Strength in Numbers

This post describes issues relevant to property owners in the Michigan Electric Transmission Company ITC Helix Substation to Hipple Substation and Oneida Substation to Nelson Road Substation Projects. Since I wrote that post, I have been retained by dozens of owners.

There is strength in numbers. Representing multiple owners reduces expenses through economies of scale, making reimbursement of them easier to obtain. It allows for review of broader market data. I learn from my clients and understanding the concerns raised by some property owners allows me to evaluate whether they impact others in ways that those owners may not have considered. It allows for negotiating power and the presentation of a consistent message to the courts.

If you have been approached by METC, please feel free to contact me to discuss your case. If I am retained and METC does not end up acquiring rights from your property, our representation will end at no cost to you. Because I work on a contingent basis, there is no retainer required to hire me. Further, once I am hired, I will advise METC’s attorneys, which should result in their right of way agents stopping their efforts to contact you.
