Regulatory approval that is a prerequisite to filing condemnations is reportedly approaching.

According to WXYZ Detroit, Nexus Pipeline is getting closer to obtaining a certificate allowing it to start acquiring property by eminent domain. The article also references historic explosions of similar pipelines.

Nexus is holding various public meetings as part of their FERC process.

I am currently representing a group of owners who are being subjected to potential takings by Nexus. Pipeline takings implicate an entire set of issues that I summarized in a blog post entitled Owner's Guide to Understanding Pipeline Takings

As is often the case, as the project gets nearer to reality, people who have not retained a lawyer to date are reaching out to me. If you have been confronted by a Nexus or other pipeline taking, please do not hesitate to contact me.
